Colorado is leveling up its football program, and Deion Sanders is leading the charge. He gave rapper Lil Wayne a tour of the team’s facilities, including a stop at the locker room. Lil Wayne’s reaction was great.
“This the f—in’ locker room?” he asked.
In the video, Sanders shows off the upgrades by pointing toward a spot for a DJ booth and a huge space for the team to meet pregame. The video doesn’t show the entire locker room, but from Wayne’s reaction, it’s a cut above the rest.
“It’s gonna be hard for them to feel bad after a loss,” Lil Wayne said.
With the room looking more like a spa from what we can see than a locker room, it’s difficult to fault his logic.
Sanders became head coach at Colorado on Dec. 4 and quickly made headlines during his introductory meeting with his new team. In the weeks since, Sanders made good on the promise from his viral video with Colorado players by bringing in the second-ranked transfer portal class this offseason, according to On3.
As Sanders’ Instagram video shows, the upgrades aren’t reserved strictly for the talent on the field, but for the program’s facilities as well. There’s a lot for prospective recruits to consider when deciding where to pursue their college football careers. Having high-end amenities and state-of-the-art facilities will always be attractive.
Lil Wayne, meanwhile, is gearing up for a tour that begins in Minneapolis on April 4. He’s reportedly set to release the sixth album in “Tha Carter” series this year after the last one was released five years ago. In music industry years, that may as well be as long as the 33-year gap between the last Colorado football national championship and the beginning of the 2023 season.
Thanks to the improvements made at the football program’s facilities, the Buffaloes have the perfect spot to celebrate if both score big comebacks.
