Two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry will make his long-awaited return to the Golden State Warriors’ lineup for their home game against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday.
Curry has missed the past 11 games due to a shoulder injury he suffered on Dec. 14 against the Indiana Pacers.
His return couldn’t come at a better time for a Warriors team that has lost consecutive games to the lowly Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic. All said, the defending champs posted a 6-5 record with Curry sidelined and are a pedestrian 20-20 on the season.
It was previously reported that Golden State set a return date of Jan. 13 against the San Antonio Spurs. Apparently, Curry’s recovery from the aforementioned injury has gone better than expected.

To say that this is big news for the Warriors would be an understatement. Since the start of the 2020-21 season, Golden State boasts a 16-22 record with Curry sidelined. The team is 96-60 when he suits up during that span.
As noted above, Golden State sits at just .500 on the campaign. Getting Curry back in addition to Andrew Wiggins’ recent return from a 15-game absence should help. The Warriors were 7-8 with Wiggins sidelined.
