A truck driver in Utah has been ordered held without bail after two young girls were discovered locked inside his refrigerated trailer following a traffic accident in Lindon, authorities confirmed.
Utah Highway Patrol troopers made the discovery during a post-accident inspection, noting “two sets of eyes” inside the trailer. According to the arrest affidavit, the driver initially appeared surprised but later admitted that children were inside.
The girls had reportedly been confined in the trailer since departing Huntington, Utah—a journey of nearly two hours. Investigators found the trailer’s temperature set at 30°F, with readings dropping to 29.5°F during transit. Bedding was also located inside the freezing compartment.
The incident has prompted serious concern over the welfare of the children and the circumstances surrounding their confinement. Authorities continue to investigate.
