Hitachi Rail has entered into a 15-year Technology Partner Framework Agreement with the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA), marking a major step forward in the modernisation of the region’s Supertram network.
Under the agreement, Hitachi Rail becomes SYMCA’s long-term strategic technology partner, tasked with renewing core Supertram systems and deploying advanced digital solutions to improve operational performance and passenger experience.
