Turkish Airlines announced it has negotiated an agreement with Boeing for up to 225 aircraft, combining wide‑body Dreamliners and 737 MAX narrow‑body jets as part of a major fleet renewal and expansion plan.
The deal reportedly includes 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners—structured as 50 firm orders and 25 options—and 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft—100 firm and 50 options—subject to final confirmations and contract signatures.
Deliveries are scheduled between 2029 and 2034, and Turkish Airlines said the transaction remains contingent on completing engine supply and maintenance agreements with Rolls‑Royce, GE Aerospace and CFM International for the respective types.
Company officials framed the purchase as central to a long‑term strategy to transition to next‑generation aircraft by 2035 and to expand the fleet toward corporate targets that include roughly 800 aircraft by 2033, aiming to boost efficiency and sustain projected annual growth.
The announcement followed high‑level diplomatic meetings between Turkish and U.S. officials this week, a context industry analysts say helped clear political and commercial hurdles around such a large, bilateral aerospace transaction.
