DUBLIN, Oct. 21, 2025 — Tuath Housing’s De Verdon Place has been recognised at the Irish Council for Social Housing (ICSH) Community Housing Awards, winning the ‘Cost Rental’ category at this year’s National Social Housing Conference.
Located on the Malahide Road in Dublin 17, De Verdon Place is a 238‑home development combining cost rental and social housing. It is one of Ireland’s largest public housing projects and represents a significant collaboration between Tuath Housing, Dublin City Council, and GEM Construction.
A Landmark in Cost Rental
The project is notable as Dublin City’s first cost rental housing delivery, offering long‑term, affordable rents pegged to cost rather than market rates. The scheme is designed to provide stability for households priced out of the private rental sector, while also contributing to the Government’s broader housing strategy.

Recognition Across Multiple Projects
Tuath Housing was shortlisted in three categories at this year’s awards, with Circular Reno and Coulter Close also receiving recognition. The awards highlight Tuath’s commitment to sustainable housing, community building, and design excellence.

Conference Theme and Engagement
The awards were presented during the two‑day National Social Housing Conference, held under the theme “Maintaining Momentum – Delivering Homes for All.” Tuath’s representatives, including members of its voluntary board and staff, contributed to discussions on governance, sustainability, design standards, and community safety.
Broader Significance
The recognition of De Verdon Place underscores the growing importance of cost rental housing in Ireland’s response to the housing crisis. By combining public, private, and voluntary sector expertise, the project demonstrates a model for scaling up affordable housing delivery nationwide.
Summary: Tuath Housing’s De Verdon Place has won the ‘Cost Rental’ award at the 2025 ICSH Community Housing Awards, marking Dublin’s first cost rental housing delivery. The 238‑home development highlights the potential of collaborative housing models to address affordability and community needs.
