We are currently in the middle of the first round of the NBA playoffs, and the most entertaining series thus far may be the matchup between the No. 2 seed Memphis Grizzlies and No. 7 seed Los Angeles Lakers. The two squads have developed a rivalry over the last couple of seasons, and we’re only seeing more fuel being added to the fire now. Following a victory by the Grizz in Game 2, professional agitator Dillon Brooks had this to say about Lakers star LeBron James: “He’s old. I poke bears. I don’t respect someone until he gives me 40.” This current Memphis squad certainly does not lack confidence, but as the saying goes, “If you come at the king, you best not miss.” The series shifts to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Saturday night.
Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. The NBA began awarding the Defensive Player of the Year following the 1982-83 season. Since then, the award has been given out 41 times, including to Memphis’s Jaren Jackson Jr., who took home this season’s award and will need to be a factor if the Grizz expect to come out of the West. So with that in mind, how many of the 41 can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
