Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell had the best game of his career on Monday night. The 26-year-old was unstoppable, putting up 71 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds in a 145-134 OT win against the Chicago Bulls. Some fun facts: Mitchell’s 71 are the most since Kobe Bryant scored 81 against the Toronto Raptors in 2006. This was the 12th time in NBA history that a player has scored 70 or more points in a game and the first to have double-digit assists in the same game. Mitchell is also the youngest player ever to score 60+ in one game, and just like Luka Doncic’s 60-point game, Mitchell hit an improbable shot off a missed free throw to send the game into OT. With the win, the Cavs moved to 24-14 on the season, and if Mitchell can keep playing like an MVP candidate, the sky is the limit for this young but uber-talented Cleveland squad.
Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. Mitchell’s 71 set a Cavs franchise record for most points in a game, which is not uncommon these days. In this decade alone, nine players have set the scoring marks for their teams. So with that in mind, how many players who have scored the most points in one game during the regular season for every NBA franchise can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
