Israeli design studio Pitsou Kedem Architects designs the new Wood Slatted House with the help of architect Tamar Berger. It is located along the outskirts of Tel Aviv in a suburban area and measures out to about 500 square meters. It is surrounded by a large garden filled with trees and is home to the twin brother of the studio’s founder, Pitsou Kedem.
The position of the house is exposed and has a glazed ground floor that rests under the concrete upper story that hangs over the top. The studio explains that “The dynamic shutter system allows the filtering of sunlight without blocking airflow into and through the house, while also giving its residents the means to control their level of privacy in the different spaces within the house.”
