The Washington Commanders introduced their new mascot on Sunday, and its name is Major Tuddy.
What exactly is Major Tuddy? Well, Major Tuddy is a giant hog wearing an army mascot, blending together the team’s new nickname and its gridiron past.
The Hogs was the nickname given to Washington’s offensive lines throughout its glory days in the 1980s and early 1990s, when the team won three Super Bowls. The Hogs were primarily made up of Russ Grimm, Jeff Bostic, Joe Jacoby and several others.
Major Tuddy was brought out during halftime of the Commanders-Browns game at FedEx Field.
The reaction was subdued, to say the least.
