The Buffalo community is still reeling after Monday night’s scary incident involving safety Damar Hamlin. Hamlin collapsed on the field and went into cardiac arrest during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Medics restored Hamlin’s heartbeat, administering CPR and AED to the 24-year-old.
Hamlin was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He is sedated and is in critical condition, according to the Bills.
The Buffalo Sabres of the NHL canceled the team’s media availability ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Washington Capitals, according to Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News. The Sabres players, coaches, management and staff are still distraught over Hamlin’s situation.
The Bills and Sabres are both owned by Pegula Sports and Entertainment. The two teams share a close relationship. There is no word of postponing the Sabres-Capitals game in Washington, D.C.
Monday’s Bills-Bengals game was postponed after Hamlin got taken to the hospital in an ambulance. The NFL announced the game would not be resumed this week. However, no decision has been made about a possible resumption at the later date nor the Week 18 regular season schedule.
