BRUSSELS — Ryanair Group CEO Michael O’Leary has confirmed that Boeing will deliver 25, 737-8200 aircraft by October 2025, significantly ahead of the previously scheduled timeline of spring 2026.
The accelerated delivery was announced during a press briefing in Brussels, where O’Leary expressed satisfaction with Boeing’s improved production pace. “The quality of what they’re delivering is excellent, so we’re really impressed,” he told reporters, noting that the additional aircraft will allow Ryanair to expand capacity and reduce fares during the busy end-of-year travel season.
The move comes as Boeing works to stabilize its 737 MAX production line following earlier disruptions. The expedited delivery is expected to support Ryanair’s fleet expansion strategy, which includes over 600 aircraft across Europe, and to bolster its competitive position heading into the winter schedule.
O’Leary added that Boeing’s MAX 7 and MAX 10 variants are also on track for certification by late 2025 and early 2026, respectively, paving the way for further fleet modernization.
