Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Falynn Pina and fiancé Jaylan Banks are grieving the loss of their unborn child. Pina, who hadn’t previously announced her second pregnancy with Banks, shared the miscarriage news in an Instagram post on Wednesday (January 11).
It’s unclear how far along in her pregnancy Falynn was. However, Pina and Banks already had a name for their second little one together.
Falynn wrote:
“Last night, the Lord called our baby home. Though we understand that God has a plan, our home is filled with tears and broken hearts. Rest in Heaven, Jean Pina. Mommy and Daddy love you so very much.”
Falynn’s post included a photo of her hand and covered lower body in what appears to be a hospital bed. However, she didn’t offer any additional details or images of a baby bump.
Earlier this week, Pina shared a black-and-white photo of her with her arm crossed in front of her slightly exposed midsection. She didn’t indicate if the image was part of a maternity shoot, modeling gig, or otherwise.
Jaylan’s last post on Instagram was made in November. The post was a carousel of images of their first child and daughter together, Emma Pina. Emma celebrated her first birthday on November 22.
Banks gushed about his daughter in the caption:
“Today my baby girl(@emma_pina ) is a big one year old. My goodness, my heart explodes with so many emotions. It is hard to believe that a year ago today you blessed my life with so much love and joy. The kind of love and joy that is genuine and pure. There are times where I wish I could freeze moments forever. Yet I know that each passing day with you brings me more happiness. This past year will be a year I will forever cherish in heart and memory. Together we grew. You learned new things each and every day which has been so amazing to watch you play and explore the world around you.”
Though Emma is Jaylan’s first child, Falynn also has three sons, Troy, Dylan, and Liam, from previous relationships. In a YouTube video, the pair announced they were expecting Emma in August 2021. At the time, Pina praised her husband-to-be for being a great father figure and “best friend” to her sons.
“I’m as ready as I can ever be. I’ve always wanted to have some type of father figure in my life, so I’m giving back to the boys what I never received…I’m ready to start the new adventure with you,” Jaylan said.
Sending condolences to the couple with this grief as they enter the new year!
