Nintendo’s first Direct presentation of 2023 was full of game and software announcements, one of which is the addition of a virtual GameBoy Color and GameBoy Advance coming to Nintendo Switch Online (NSO). The GameBoy Color will be available for all NSO subscribers, while the GameBoy Advance is reserved for subscribers with the NSO Expansion Pack.
At launch, the GameBoy Color has nine playable games, not including European regional variants, and the GameBoy Advance has six games. These fifteen games are some of the most iconic titles in Nintendo’s handheld history, with big hits such as ‘The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap’ and ‘Kirby’s Dream Land.’ Additionally, the presentation confirmed that many more titles will be coming to these two virtual consoles in the near future, including entries from ‘Fire Emblem,’ ‘Golden Sun,’ and more.
