LAS VEGAS – A Las Vegas man with a history of felony convictions has been sentenced to 49 years in federal prison for a string of armed robberies committed over a one-week span in January 2022.

George Perez was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Miranda M. Du following his conviction on multiple federal charges. According to trial evidence and court records, Perez committed seven robberies between January 19 and January 25, 2022, targeting businesses across Las Vegas.

In each case, Perez posed as a customer before brandishing a Taurus G2 9mm handgun and demanding cash. He used threats of force and violence to intimidate store employees, successfully stealing money during six of the seven incidents.

Perez has multiple prior convictions in Clark County, Nevada, including attempted possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, two burglaries, and unlawful possession of credit or debit cards. As a convicted felon, he was legally prohibited from possessing a firearm.

A federal jury found Perez guilty in February 2025 after a five-day trial. He was convicted on seven counts of interference with commerce by robbery, seven counts of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

U.S. Attorney Sigal Chattah and FBI Las Vegas Special Agent in Charge Spencer L. Evans announced the sentence. The case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys David Kiebler and Lauren Ibanez.
