Polestar officially unveiled the 2024 Polestar 2, its upcoming electric sedan. Two of the most notable changes from the previous year’s version of the vehicle are present in the drivetrain and the front frame. The vehicle is available in several configurations, including a new entry-level model equipped with rear-wheel drive, which was not an available option on the 2 in 2023.
The frame has been changed to accommodate the ‘SmartZone,’ a set of cameras and radar sensors placed on the front grille. The rear-facing cameras and sensors remain in the same location as the previous model. As for the performance, the entry-level 2024 Polestar 2 boasts a 299 horsepower motor that delivers 361 lb-ft of torque. This results in a quicker acceleration time and top speed. The range has also been improved with the vehicle reaching nearly 300 miles on a single charge.
These specifications do not apply to the premium dual-motor model, though, which commands 421 horsepower, 546 lb-ft of torque, and 270 miles of range.
