Aptar Pharma has unveiled the ‘APF Futurity,’ the company’s first multidose, metal-free nasal spray pump. The Crystal Lake created APF Futurity, Illinois-based Aptar to administer nasal saline and other equivalent over-the-counter (OTC) formulations. Designed to fill a gap in the recyclable nasal spray pump market, the pump has achieved Class AA certification from cyclos-HTP.
‘APF Futurity’ is meant to be used with a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP) container bottle. When the pump is empty after usage, the user may recycle the product with it intact. Before disposal, they don’t need to separate or remove any components or materials, as the component can be recycled and reused.
“As a leading provider of nasal spray pumps globally, the launch of APF Futurity is a significant step forward in our sustainability journey, underlining Aptar’s overall commitment to a more circular economy and meeting the global need for sustainable packaging solutions that are easy to recycle,” said Aptar President Gael Touya.
