Doha, 20 May 2025 – Qatar Airways Group announced on Monday a record profit of $2.15 billion for its fiscal year ending March 31, 2025, driven by strong passenger demand and continued recovery in global air travel.

The state-owned aviation group reported total revenues of $23.4 billion, up from $22.1 billion in the previous fiscal year. Net profit rose from $1.6 billion in the prior reporting period, marking the airline’s highest-ever annual earnings.

“These record-breaking results are a testament to the hard work, skill, and dedication of teams across all of Qatar Airways Group,” said Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, the Group Chief Executive Officer, in a statement.

Qatar Airways carried 43.1 million passengers during the year, an increase from 40 million the previous year. Its fleet comprises more than 230 aircraft, including a mix of Airbus and Boeing wide-body and medium-range jets.

The broader Qatar Airways Group includes the passenger airline, Qatar Airways Cargo, Qatar Duty Free, and the operator of Hamad International Airport in Doha.

The airline has continued to benefit from its strategic geographical position between Europe and Asia, facilitating global long-haul travel. The company also experienced heightened traffic during and following Qatar’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup in late 2022.

The earnings announcement comes shortly after Dubai-based Emirates reported a record $5.2 billion profit for its latest fiscal year, positioning it as the world’s most profitable airline.
