The European Commission has published aggregated data from aerodrome pairs within the EEA for 2023 pursuant to Article 14(6) of the EU ETS Directive. In a significant step forward on transparency, more data on aviation emissions is being published, while protecting commercially sensitive data.
In line with a statement issued by the European Commission, the data were published already starting with available emissions data from 2022. However, in 2022 only limited data were available for publication.
As from 2023, thanks to cooperation with Member States and Eurocontrol, the detailed data will be published in full. This data is reported under the EU ETS Directive for the EU ETS and ICAO’s CORSIA scheme, the latter only by EEA-based operators. The current publication, as a first step in publishing all data, includes available data in accordance with Article 14(6), point (a), which are aggregated data per aerodrome pair within EEA.
