U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that Israel has accepted a new ceasefire and hostage-release proposal aimed at ending the war in Gaza. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump described the initiative as a final opportunity for peace, stating, “The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well. This is my last warning, there will not be another one”.

The proposal, developed by White House envoy Steve Witkoff, reportedly includes the release of all remaining Israeli hostages in exchange for a halt to military operations and the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners. Trump emphasized that the deal has broad international support and warned Hamas of unspecified consequences should they reject it.

Hamas has previously accepted a similar 60-day truce framework mediated by Egypt and Qatar, which includes phased prisoner exchanges and expanded humanitarian access. However, Israeli officials have yet to issue a formal response to that version, and military operations in Gaza continue to escalate.

The ceasefire push comes amid growing international pressure to end hostilities and address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Trump’s statement places renewed urgency on Hamas to respond, as diplomatic efforts intensify ahead of upcoming talks in Washington.
