Potential Knicks targets ahead of trade deadline

Sports

As SNY’s Ian Begley reports, the Knicks held internal discussions about trading for Sixers forward Tobias Harris and Raptors forward O.G. Anunoby before their recent eight-game winning streak. Houston’s Eric Gordon is another name the Knicks have expressed an interest in, according to multiple reports

Although it has the assets for a major roster shakeup, New York (18-16) likely won’t make a major roster shakeup. Here’s a breakdown of potential targets as the Feb. 9 trade deadline approaches.

Small forward Kelly Oubre Jr., Charlotte Hornets

Averaging 20.6 points, Oubre is wasting away on a Hornets team that is only contending for the first pick in the draft. The eighth-year forward won’t cost a premium, as he’ll hit free agency this summer.

Only 27, Oubre could provide New York’s bench with a much-needed offensive spark. With eyes on an impact wing player, presumably, to replace Cam Reddish in the rotation, Oubre might be a perfect match.
