The products include a variety of decadent, artisan-inspired flavors like Butter Brickle, Burgundy Cherry, Double Dutch, Chocolate Mint Flake, Mocha Almond Fudge, Vanilla Bean and Mocha Almond Fudge. Each of the ice cream flavors are launching in 16-ounce pints with shoppers able to pick them up at their nearest locations for $8.99 each. The products are reported to be produced in small batches by a local California ice cream manufacturer that’s family owned.
VP of Center Store Rich Gillmore commented on the Gelson’s Artisan Ice Cream saying, “Having come up through the ranks of dairy and frozen foods at Gelson’s, I have a keen interest in ice cream and recognize the value of a private label line for our customers. We are excited to introduce Gelson’s Ice Cream as we begin our California summer.”
