A Philadelphia Eagles‘ offensive lineman has been indicted on charges of rape and kidnapping, just over a week from the team’s scheduled appearance against the Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl LVII.
Prosecutors claim the charges against Josh Sills stem from an incident in Ohio back in Dec. 2019, according to TMZ Sports.

Authorities further allege that the 25-year-old rookie reserve lineman, who made the team as an undrafted free agent earlier this year, “engaged in sexual activity that was not consensual and held a victim against her will,” the indictment reads.
“The crime was immediately reported, and the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office conducted a detailed investigation,” the Ohio Attorney General said in a news release.

The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office had conducted an investigation into the case, with a grand jury indicting Sills on one felony count of rape and one felony count of kidnapping this week.
The news comes only 11 days away from Super Bowl LVII, where the Eagles will be taking on the Chiefs.
Meanwhile, Sills has been issued a summons to appear in court regarding the charges on Feb. 16, just days after Super Bowl LVII.

Sills Set To Appear In Court Feb. 16, Had Only Played One Game With Eagles Back On Oct. 9
The Ohio native ended up attending both Oklahoma State and West Virginia in his first college career.
He appeared in just one game against the Cardinals on Oct. 9., and played just a handful of snaps. Sills was one of three undrafted rookies to earn an opening day roster spot for the Eagles’ 2022 season.
Meanwhile, the Eagles haven’t publicly commented on the matter as of Wednesday, as they are scheduled to play against Kansas City on Feb. 11 in Arizona.
