LONDON — Nvidia has unveiled a £2 billion investment initiative aimed at strengthening the United Kingdom’s artificial intelligence ecosystem, with a focus on key innovation hubs in London, Oxford, Cambridge, and Manchester. The funding package is designed to support emerging startups, expand AI infrastructure, and generate high-skilled employment across the country.
Among the beneficiaries are leading UK-based AI firms including Synthesia, Revolut, Oxa, PolyAI, Latent Labs, and Basecamp Research. Nvidia will also inject $500 million into autonomous vehicle startup Wayve, underscoring its commitment to next-generation mobility technologies.
The initiative is backed by prominent venture capital partners such as Accel, Balderton, Hoxton Ventures, Air Street Capital, and Phoenix Court. Together, they aim to position the UK as a global leader in AI development, with strategic investments in generative AI, robotics, fintech, and biotech.
Nvidia’s move aligns with broader efforts by the UK government to foster AI leadership through regulatory reform, talent development, and public-private collaboration.
