📍 Prague, July 10, 2025 — A new international rail service connecting Prague, Berlin, and Copenhagen is scheduled to launch on May 1, 2026, offering passengers a seamless and sustainable travel option across three major European capitals. The initiative is a joint effort between Czech Railways (ČD), Deutsche Bahn (DB), and Danish State Railways (DSB), and will be operated using ČD’s state-of-the-art ComfortJet trains.

🚆 Service Details

  • Two daily round-trip services year-round, with a third added during summer months
  • Journey times: ~7 hours between Berlin and Copenhagen; ~11 hours between Prague and Copenhagen
  • Stops include: Ústí nad Labem, Dresden, Hamburg, Odense, and other key cities

🌍 ComfortJet Features

  • Top speed: 230 km/h
  • Capacity: 555 seats, including 99 in first class
  • Amenities: Wi-Fi, dining car, children’s cinema, adjustable seating, bicycle storage, and wheelchair accessibility

🛤️ Infrastructure and Future Enhancements The launch follows the completion of renovation work on the Berlin–Hamburg line. Travel times are expected to shorten further after the opening of the Fehmarn Belt Undersea Tunnel between Germany and Denmark, slated for 2029.

🇪🇺 European Commission Support The route is the first of ten pilot projects backed by the European Commission to promote cross-border rail connectivity and sustainable mobility across the EU.
