Mitsubishi Electric Europe selects NTT DATA Business Solutions as a strategic partner to lead major digital transformation project

World

Mitsubishi Electric Europe, one of the world’s leading names in the sales and distribution of electronic products and systems, has chosen leading SAP Partner NTT DATA Business Solutions to guide them on a digital transformation journey starting with the conversion of their existing SAP ECC system to SAP S/4HANA.

Mitsubishi Electric Europe’s finance and wholesale supply chain currently operates on a heavily modified SAP ECC system that is over 10 years old, servicing 11 countries across central and Eastern Europe and Africa—with Germany, UK, Spain, France and Italy among its key markets.

The company has plans to continue its upward growth journey by increasing its staffing level over the next five years. To do so, it needs a fully modernised SAP platform to support the company’s growth trajectory which is fueled by climate conscious solutions and digitization. The next year will see a focus on migrating existing capability to SAP’s new cloud-based solutions.

During the bidding process, NTT DATA Business Solutions funded an exercise using our own world-class SAP S/4HANA Conversion Factory in order to be able to confirm to the board at Mitsubishi Electric Europe that a seamless transition from the heavily modified SAP ECC system to SAP S/4HANA could be achieved quickly and seamlessly, without interrupting the businesses supply chain.

Tatsuya Ogawa, Global/Japan Enterprise Business Director at NTT DATA Business Solutions said: “This announcement marks a new step in the strategic partnership between Mitsubishi Electric Europe and NTT DATA Business Solutions that is going from strength to strength.  With our proven factory conversion approach, we were able to demonstrate our commitment and ensure we had their confidence to carry out the plans for major digital transformation with minimal risk and disruption.”

Tatsuya continued “Last year we successfully undertook a benefits assessment consulting assignment to determine why Mitsubishi Electric Europe should move to SAP S/4HANA and implemented a successful pilot with Signavio based process mining. The focus for this year is a minimum disruption migration of current business processes onto SAP’s latest S/4HANA and BW/4HANA platforms, with the aim to enable future growth and innovation.”
