A total of 40 initiatives were selected for support, focusing on farmer safety, physical and mental health checks, tractor awareness for youth, chainsaw training, and community wellbeing events.

Minister Heydon commented:

“With 40 projects selected, I’m confident this initiative will significantly enhance safety, health, and wellbeing among farmers, farming families, workers, and contractors involved directly in these schemes.”

Minister Healy‑Rae, speaking at the Teagasc Moorepark Dairy Open Day, highlighted the range of project designs:

“The positive response to tractor awareness training for 14‑year‑olds, chainsaw training, and health checks underscores the sector’s commitment to addressing safety and wellbeing challenges.”
