- This is the latest in a number of recent acquisitions for Middleby, which purchased multiple companies during Q2 2022 alone, as noted in its quarterly earnings report.
Dive Insight:
Marco Beverage’s annual revenue last year was $30 million, compared to over $3 billion for Middleby. But Middleby sees the acquisition as a good complement to its own growing portfolio of drinks.
“The Marco product line further expands our offerings in coffee brewers, cold brew dispense, and a variety of hot, cold and sparkling water dispensers,” said Tim FitzGerald, Middleby CEO in the release. “Touchless and in-counter dispense technology is rapidly gaining popularity due to space and labor advantages, along with enhanced aesthetic features. Marco is well-positioned with solutions for these growing trends.”
Marco Beverage’s products are designed to be energy efficient and easy to use, and can be found in restaurants, hotels, coffee shops, c-stores and more, according to a press release from the company.
Among the Dublin, Ireland-based company’s products is the Pour’d cold coffee tap, the winner of the Best New Product 2022 award in the commercial Cold Brew Coffee Preparation & Serving category from the Specialty Coffee Association.
Marco Beverage Systems is the latest of Elgin, Illinois-based Middleby’s acquisitions. In November, Middleby bought Escher Mixers, a company focused on industrial mixers for making dough. In Q3, Middleby also added CP Packaging, a packaging company, and Colussi Ermes, which helped augment Middleby’s automated washing and food safety solutions.
