World

NEW ORLEANS, LADominique Peeples, 28, of Memphis, Tennessee, was sentenced to 17 years in prison on May 28, 2025, after pleading guilty to Sex Trafficking of a Minor, a violation of Title 18, U.S. Code Sections 1591(a)(1), 1591(b)(2), 1594(a), and 2.

Case Overview

According to court documents, Peeples trafficked a 17-year-old female across multiple states, including Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, forcing her to engage in commercial sex acts. Peeples was aware of the victim’s age and advertised her on websites commonly used for illicit services, keeping most or all of the profits.

The victim worked under Peeples’ supervision from August 2020 until her escape in mid-January 2021. During this period, Peeples monitored her activities, waiting in a vehicle as she solicited clients. Following her escape, he posted a video on social media, boasting about her exploitation while brandishing firearms.

Sentencing and Restitution

U.S. District Court Judge Sarah S. Vance sentenced Peeples to 17 years of imprisonment, followed by 10 years of supervised release. He was also ordered to:

  • Pay $120,000 in restitution to the victim
  • Pay a $100 mandatory special assessment fee
  • Register as a sex offender
