Patrick Mahomes did more than just get his team back to the Super Bowl with a win against the Cincinnati Bengals on championship weekend.
With the victory at Arrowhead on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs play-caller also notched his 10th career NFL playoff win – the most by any player before the age of 28.
Mahomes completed 29 of 43 passes for 326 yards with two touchdowns in Kansas City’s 23-20 win against Cincinnati. It was the perfect way to exact revenge on the team that ended the Chiefs’ campaign last season, especially with all the smack talk ahead of Sunday’s big game.
“I think guys were probably the most pumped up I’ve ever seen them going into a football game,” Mahomes said after the game, via USA Today. “Lot of trash talk coming from a lot of different places.”
DraftKings lists the Chiefs as +110 underdogs against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 57. The Eagles are coming off of a 31-7 win against the San Francisco 49ers on championship weekend. Kansas City bested Philadelphia 42-30 when these teams last saw each other in 2021, with Mahomes throwing for 278 yards with five touchdown passes and an interception that day.
