Locally Sourced Angular Cabins : straw flea house

Australian design studio Juri Troy Architects finishes the Straw Flea House, which is an angular cabin space that is located in the historic village of Murstetten. Notably, it is constructed using locally sourced timber and straw materials and is made as a single-bedroom weekend home.

It is constructed with the contributive efforts of the local studio Caravan Atelier. The studio speaks about the construction, noting that “The house is elevated and only touches the terrain via the eight screw foundations; this means that no ground surface is sealed. Most of the materials used come from the immediate surroundings.” The inside of the cabin features a living space, dining room, bathroom along the northern corner, and kitchen.
