Lamborghini unveils SC63 hybrid racing prototype to participate in Le Mans next year.
Celebrating its 60th anniversary as Goodwood Festival of Speed celebrates its 30th, Automobili Lamborghini unveiled the Italian marque’s first hybrid endurance racing LMDh prototype.
The SC63, which will begin testing within weeks, is set to compete in the Hypercar class of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and in the GTP class of the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship Endurance Cup, comprising classic races such as the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring.
Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann, said:
“Goodwood Festival of Speed provides a perfect environment for Lamborghini to continue our 60th-anniversary celebrations in 2023. Goodwood is an ideal venue to present our exciting new endurance racecar project and for the debut dynamic appearance of our new flagship hybrid V12 Revuelto: our first new model as we head on our path towards electrification. Importantly, not only do we welcome our clients to Goodwood in true Lamborghini style, but the Festival of Speed is a wonderful opportunity to put our cars and brand in front of so many Lamborghini enthusiasts who visit the UK event over the four days.”
“The SC63 is the most advanced racing car ever produced by Lamborghini and it follows our roadmap ‘Direzione Cor Tauri’ laid out by the brand for the electrification of our product range.”
