On Thursday, Simon Kenton (Ky.) offensive lineman Aba Selm became the latest 2024 commitment for the Kentucky Wildcats, announcing his verbal pledge on Twitter.
WHAT KENTUCKY IS GETTING:
Selm has a nice blend of size at 6-foot-4, 295-pounds to go along with athleticism, physicality, and versatility. He has the ability to play tackle or guard at the next level and college coaches like his ability to pull and create gaps while being a finisher at the point of attack.
Kentucky was the first power five program to offer Selm back in September, but his recruiting process saw a huge uptick in January with programs like Penn State, Missouri, Cincinnati, Louisville, Indiana, Illinois, and others extending offers.
WHY IT’S BIG FOR THE WILDCATS:
Selm’s commitment to Kentucky comes exactly a week after the Wildcats secured another top offensive lineman within in the state in the 2024 class, Taylor County (Ky.) product Hayes Johnson.
Kentucky assistant Vince Marrow and offensive line coach Zach Yenser played big roles in the recruiting process of both and it’s clear that Mark Stoops and his staff are making a big push to grab the best talent within the Bluegrass.
