It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Eric Mumford, husband of Judge Lynn Toler, best known as the host of the popular television show Divorce Court. The cause of Mr. Mumford’s death has not yet been released.
Judge Toler took to Instagram on January 4th to share the sad news of her husband’s death, writing:
“Eric Mumford Big E. January 1, 1951 – December 23, 2022. I am in a million pieces.”

Eric “Big E” Mumford was Toler’s romantic partner for over 33 years. Eric was born on January 1, 1951, in Ohio. He met his wife-to-be in 1986 and already had four children from his first marriage, according to details Toler shared in an Op-Ed for Huffington Post regarding their relationship.
Despite facing challenges in their marriage, Judge Toler and Mr. Mumford remained devoted to each other. The pair relied on their strong bond and the lessons learned from Judge Toler’s work on Divorce Court to weather storms. The television judge also shared that their love and commitment to one another allowed them to enjoy a happy, fulfilling marriage for more than three decades.

The grieving Judge seems to be staying positive following the loss of her husband of 33 years. Ahead of announcing his death, Tole shared a positive message with followers going into the new year, suggesting that love survives loss.
