TEL AVIV — Families of Israeli hostages held in Gaza have declared a nationwide “Day of Disruption,” urging the government to end the ongoing war and secure the release of all captives. The announcement was made during a press conference in Tel Aviv, where relatives of those abducted on October 7, 2023, called for mass public participation in strikes and demonstrations across the country.

Organized by the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, the initiative includes road blockades, business closures, and coordinated rallies in major cities. Protesters are demanding a comprehensive deal to bring home the estimated 50 remaining hostages, roughly 20 of whom are believed to be alive.

The movement has gained support from bereaved families, opposition leaders, and civil society groups. While the Israeli government maintains that military pressure is necessary to defeat Hamas, critics argue that continued escalation endangers the hostages and prolongs civilian suffering.

The “Day of Disruption” marks one of the largest coordinated protest efforts since the war began, reflecting growing public frustration and calls for urgent diplomatic action.
