Irish Taoiseach (PM) Condemns Israeli Airstrike in Doha, Urges Diplomatic De-escalation

🇮🇪 Taoiseach Micheál Martin has issued a strong statement condemning Israel’s airstrike in Doha, Qatar, calling it a “flagrant violation” of the Gulf state’s sovereignty and a threat to regional stability.

The attack, which targeted senior Hamas leaders meeting to discuss ceasefire proposals, killed six individuals including the son of Hamas’s chief negotiator and a Qatari security officer. Israel confirmed the operation, citing its intent to eliminate figures responsible for the October 7 attacks.

Martin warned that the strike undermines efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and risks escalating tensions across the Middle East. “This is a time for all with influence to use it to maximum effect to avoid escalation,” he stated, emphasizing the need for diplomacy over military action.
