Ireland has officially earned the title of the most educated country in the world, according to recent research by real estate and investment firm CBRE. The report reveals that over 52% of Irish adults aged 25 to 64 now hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, placing Ireland at the top of global education rankings.
While larger nations may produce more graduates in absolute numbers, Ireland leads in terms of educational attainment per capita, a significant measure of a country’s investment in human capital. This achievement highlights the country’s strong emphasis on higher education and skills development, particularly in sectors like technology, finance, and life sciences.
In securing the top spot, Ireland surpassed other high-performing nations such as Switzerland, Singapore, Belgium, and the United Kingdom—all known for their robust education systems and highly skilled workforces.
The data positions Ireland as a key destination for knowledge-based industries and global companies seeking a highly educated talent pool. It also reflects the effectiveness of national education policies and the growing demand for advanced qualifications in today’s global economy.
