Minister of State for International Development and Diaspora, Neale Richmond TD, has officially launched the call for applications to the 2026 Civil Society Fund (CSF), a key initiative supporting Irish and select international NGOs in delivering overseas development projects. The announcement was made by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade on 8 September 2025.
The CSF provides financial support for projects in countries eligible for Official Development Assistance, focusing on sectors such as education, health, human rights, and peacebuilding. Minister Richmond emphasized the critical role of civil society in addressing global challenges, including conflict, humanitarian crises, hunger, and climate change.
Eligible NGOs may apply for grants of up to €800,000 per annum, with project durations of up to five years. In 2025, the fund allocated €7.8 million to development efforts worldwide.
The deadline for submission of Eligibility Forms is 5pm on 19 September 2025. Successful applicants will receive full application materials by the end of September, with completed applications due by 5pm on 10 November 2025.
