On July 16, 2025, Minister of State for Migration Colm Brophy TD announced the opening of the 2025 Ireland Against Racism Fund (IARF), allocating up to €1 million to support national and regional projects aimed at combating racism and promoting racial equality and community cohesion.
The fund is a key component of the National Action Plan Against Racism (NAPAR) and invites applications from non-governmental and community organisations working to address racial discrimination and foster inclusion across Irish society.
🧭 Thematic Pillars of the 2025 Funding Call

Projects must align with one or more of the following five strategic themes:
- Being Safe and Being Heard: Supporting victims of racism and protecting individuals from racist incidents and hate crimes.
- Being Equal: Tackling ethnic disparities and promoting equity in access to services and opportunities.
- Being Seen and Taking Part: Encouraging active participation of minority communities in civic and cultural life.
- Being Counted: Enhancing data collection and analysis to measure the impacts of racism.
- Being Together: Promoting shared understanding and collective action toward racial equality.
💶 Funding Schemes
The IARF offers two streams of financial support:
Scheme | Grant Range | Target Projects |
---|---|---|
A | €40,000 – €100,000 | National and regional |
B | €5,000 – €10,000 | Local and community |
Applications must be submitted electronically by Wednesday, August 27, 2025, and will be assessed based on proposal strength, strategic fit with NAPAR goals, and value for money.
Minister Brophy emphasized the fund’s role in empowering grassroots efforts:
“There is no place for racism in our society. This funding underlines the government’s commitment to tackling racism and making life better for people who may be subjected to racist discrimination.”
