German tech and industrial giant Siemens has launched a high-tech building management platform that manages to take advantage of the wonders of Internet of Things (IoT) technology to enable efficient management of building automation and energy.
The Siemens ‘Connect Box’ building management platform makes use of a cloud-based interface to help managers stay on top of building performance. Launched as part of the Siemens Xcelerator ecosystem, this user-friendly device can monitor building performance in terms of metrics such as energy efficiency and air quality.
What’s more, the ‘Connect Box’ system can be integrated into existing automation systems and cloud programs, making it easy for the program to be adopted without having to eschew existing systems. The platform is designed to be of use in a wide variety of settings ranging from apartment buildings to offices and retail edifices.
