HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Mikayla Lanay Johnson, 27, of Huntington, pleaded guilty today to a federal charge of distributing fentanyl and cocaine base (commonly known as “crack”), announced Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston.
According to court records, on March 11, 2024, Johnson sold approximately 4 grams of crack cocaine and 4.5 grams of fentanyl to a confidential informant. She admitted to arranging and carrying out the transaction at her residence in Huntington.
Johnson is scheduled to be sentenced on September 22, 2025, and faces a maximum of 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a $1 million fine.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Cabell County Sheriff’s Office. United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers is presiding over the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Taylor is prosecuting.
