Following her address at the recent FTE Global event, Future Travel Experience caught up with Amber Simonsen, Director, Airport Lobby Transformation, Alaska Airlines. In this video interview, she shares how dynamic new approaches are driving a sub 5-minute lobby experience across Alaska Airlines’ airport network. “One of the goals is to reduce stress for travellers,” Simonsen explains. “We’ve removed one of the parts that was causing the most anxiety, which is check-in, so that can be done on the Alaska Airlines app in the comfort of your own home. What we’ve been able to do is remove kiosks and put in an iPad-based solution, where we just print bag tags, and that’s been really key to helping travellers have a quick experience.”
