French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, will embark on a state visit to the United Kingdom from Tuesday, July 8 to Thursday, July 10, 2025. This visit, at the invitation of King Charles III, marks President Macron’s first official state visit to the UK. The couple will be hosted at Windsor Castle, as Buckingham Palace is undergoing extensive renovations.

The state visit underscores the enduring friendship between the UK and France, particularly in the post-Brexit era. It follows a reciprocal visit by King Charles III and Queen Camilla to France in September 2023, which aimed to strengthen bilateral ties. The upcoming visit is expected to feature a state banquet, a hallmark of royal hospitality, where both Queen Camilla and Princess Kate Middleton are anticipated to wear tiaras.

This engagement also occurs amid ongoing efforts by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to rebuild relations with the European Union. The visit is seen as a significant step in reaffirming the UK’s commitment to its European partners.

As Buckingham Palace continues its refurbishments, state visits are set to be held at Windsor Castle until at least 2027, ensuring the continuity of diplomatic engagements.

This forthcoming state visit highlights the importance of international diplomacy and the enduring bonds between nations, even amidst periods of change.
