Former New York Jets quarterback and current “The NFL Today” analyst Boomer Esiason isn’t buying that the Green Bay Packers could ultimately send quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the San Francisco 49ers.
“You don’t do business in the NFL by screwing over another general manager at the last moment,” Esiason said during Wednesday’s edition of his WFAN morning show, as shared by Ryan Chichester of Audacy. “You just don’t do it. That’s just not the way you want to conduct business, especially when you get an owner involved and he has got to get on his plane and he’s got to go do things and go talk to Aaron Rodgers, and Aaron Rodgers says he only wants to play for the Jets.”
Specifically, Esiason was responding to Fox Sports personality and WFAN radio host Craig Carton. Carton suggested during Tuesday’s edition of his FS1 program that the 49ers could potentially make a serious move for Rodgers if the Jets and Packers don’t soon complete their much-rumored trade.
