Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib participated in the Humanitarian Leadership Group on Supply Chain Conference and welcomed the agreement reached by participants to continue working towards a shared vision for a more interoperable and collaborative system to deliver humanitarian aid.
Commissioner Lahbib reiterated the determination to work closely with partners to promote greater efficiency and coherence across humanitarian operations. A more strategic and coordinated approach to supply chains can help maximise limited resources, reduce aid delivery times, and reinforce local capacities.
The conference concludes a series of thematic workshops organised by the European Commission throughout 2025, which explored key issues for supply chains such as procurement, environmental sustainability, and the strengthening of local systems. Throughout these sessions, participants including donors, international organisations, INGOs, academia and the private sector, gathered to discuss how to reach more people in need, reduce environmental impacts, and better respond to growing operational and funding gaps.
Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib, said:

We must ensure that aid reaches people in need more efficiently and effectively, saving more lives. We are committed to working with partners to strengthen supply chains and maximise efforts.
