These new Peugeot hybrid vehicles have been unveiled as a series of transportation solutions that aim to prioritize efficiency thanks to a series of advanced upgrades over previous models.
The vehicles include the 48V hybrid Peugeot 3008 and the Peugeot 5008, which are equipped with a 136-horsepower gas engine along with a six-speed dual-clutch electric gearbox with an electric motor. The vehicles are reported to reduce fuel consumption by 15% by relying 100% on electric mode when driving at a low speed in traffic. The vehicles are reported to curb emissions by driving in 100% electric mode during about half the time when in urban environments.
The new Peugeot hybrid vehicles also fully shut off the gas engine when decelerating to help the electric motor generate energy for recharging the battery.
