The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has extended a €25 million loan to PBZ Leasing for on-lending to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Croatia.
The facility is designed to improve access to finance for the private sector, with 30% earmarked for green assets, including energy-efficient technologies and equipment. The initiative supports the EBRD’s Green Economy Transition (GET) strategy and aims to stimulate sustainable investment among Croatian MSMEs.
The agreement was signed by Nikolina Žganec and Bogdan Drakulić of PBZ Leasing, alongside Miljan Ždrale, EBRD’s Regional Director for Central Europe.
“This new facility strengthens our capacity to support the growth and competitiveness of Croatian MSMEs, while advancing the green transition,” said Drakulić.
Ždrale added, “Targeted investments like this help expand leasing options for MSMEs and contribute to broader economic development.”
To date, the EBRD has invested nearly €5 billion in Croatia through 263 projects, focusing on private sector growth, EU-aligned reforms, and the commercialisation of public enterprises.
