The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has appointed William Roos as Managing Director for Corporate Strategy, effective 1 September 2025.
In his new role, Mr Roos will be a member of the Bank’s Executive Committee, where he will lead the formulation of the EBRD’s overarching corporate strategy. His responsibilities will include advising the President on strategic direction and developing the Bank’s core strategic documents.
EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso said:
“I am delighted to welcome William to the EBRD. His deep expertise in international relations and the financial structures of multilateral development banks makes him exceptionally well suited to help shape the Bank’s strategic priorities as we enter our new Strategic and Capital Framework.”
A French national, Mr Roos currently serves as Assistant Secretary for Multilateral, Development and Trade Affairs at the French Treasury. He brings extensive experience in development and international affairs, having also served as the EBRD’s Director for France from 2019 to 2021.
