EASA further extends consultation for proposed Means of Compliance to SC E-19

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has further extended the consultation period for the proposed Level 2 Means of Compliance (MoC):

to the Special Condition on Electric/Hybrid Propulsion Systems (EHPS) — SC E-19.

EASA encourages all interested parties and affected stakeholders to review and comment on the proposed MoC via the dedicated Comment-Response Tool (CRT) entry until 30 April 2025.

The proposed Level 2 MoC provide acceptable methods of compliance based on published standards, existing guidance material or new guidance material generated or adapted for the EHPS technology.

Background

‘Overspeed and Containment Demonstration’ and ‘Endurance and Durability Demonstration’ were initially published to seek stakeholders’ views at the end of December 2024 for a 3-month consultation period. Their consultation period was initially extended till 31 March 2025.

‘Calibration Assurance’ and ‘Safety Assessment’ were published on 12 March 2025 for a consultation period ending on 15 April 2025. This extension is aimed at gathering a last round of comments, and no further extensions will be granted.
