Max Muncy came into this season looking to prove something.
He wanted to prove that his 2022 season, the worst season of his career since joining the Los Angeles Dodgers, was just a fluke. Muncy’s power took a massive hit last year. His slugging was .384, a far cry from his .541 slugging from 2018-2021 (excluding 2020).
However, Muncy started the season cold, going 1-for-16. Before he knew it, he was in a 4-for-33 hole through the first week and a half of the season. Muncy studied film, made some tweaks to his swing and added a leg kick before Monday’s game against the San Francisco Giants.
Everything seemed to click for Muncy as he smashed a grand slam and a three-run homer in the Dodgers’ 9-1 win.
